Buparvaquone kills theilerial schizonts (in lymphoid cells) and piroplasms (in red blood cells) and it supresses preschizont stages during the Incubation period of disease. Buparvaquone kill the parasite through its actions on their mitochondrial electron transport (respiratory) system. Furosemide is a diuretic, which resolves pulmonary oedema.
